Hazrat Abu Thalabah Khushani رضي الله عنه

The Sahabi, Hazrat Abu Thalabah رضي الله عنه was from the Banu Khushain tribe. He came to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم and accepted Islam when Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم was preparing for the battle of Khaibar. He then fought in the expedition of Khaibar. He also participated in “Bayatur Ridwaan” on the occasion of the treaty of Hudaybiyyah. He neither fought nor took any sides in the battle of Siffeen. He used to reside in Daarayya.

Towards the end of his life, he said, “I have hope in Allah Ta’ala that I will not experience any suffocation during the throes of death.” Hence, one day whilst engaged in Tahajjud Salaah during the last portion of the night, his soul departed from this temporary abode. His daughter was asleep at that time. She dreamt that her father has passed away. Scared, she woke up and asked, “Where’s my father?” Someone responded that he is performing Salaah. She called for him and did not receive any response so she went to his room and found him in Sajdah. She shook him which resulted in him falling and thus realized that he had returned to the mercy of Allah Ta’ala.
