Allah Ta’ala most definitely honours those involved in learning and imparting Deeni knowledge in this world and the Hereafter. This can be easily understood from the Quran Majeed and Mubarak Ahadith of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. However, Allah Ta’ala many a time, as a motivation, inspiration and lesson for entire mankind, manifests these honours in various ways. One of the many ways is by exposing it via dreams.
One will understand this through the great Alim and Muhaddith, Hazrat Moulana Haroon AbbasOmar رحمه الله. Moulana رحمه الله had immense love for the Ahadith of Rasulullah صلي الله عليه وسلم and this can be gauged from the fact that Moulana رحمه الله taught Bukhari Shareef in Madrasah Taleemudden for an amazing 25 years.
Any individual who sat in these lessons perceived the love for Allah جل جلاله , Rasulullah صلي الله عليه وسلم and our pious predecessors رحمهم الله gushing forth from the heart of Moulana رحمه الله.
He would explain the chapters of Bukhari Shareef and the intelligence of Imam Bukhari رحمه الله with immense love and respect. This special link with Rasulullah صلي الله عليه وسلم and Imam Bukhari رحمه الله brought about such an honour, the similitude of which was experienced by Imam Bukhari رحمه الله.
Below are two dreams seen regarding Moulana Haroon AbbasOmar رحمه الله and Imam Bukhari رحمه الله respectively.
Glad Tidings for Moulana Haroon Bin Ismaeel AbbasOmar رحمه الله
An Alim relates,
“I had a dream on the night our beloved Ustaaz, Hazrat Moulana Haroon Sahib رحمه الله passed away. On the night that Hazrat Moulana Haroon Abbasomar Sahib رحمه الله passed away, I saw a very beautiful handsome person, full of noor, wearing green clothes. Thereafter I heard a voice saying that this is our beloved Nabi Muhammad صلي الله عليه وسلم. I was filled with awe and respect. I asked, “O Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم! What has brought you over here? Is there any khidmah that I can do for you?” Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم answered, “I have come to fetch a very special person” and turned towards that person. I then saw a person standing there. It was Hazrat Moulana Haroon AbbasOmar Sahib رحمه الله wearing a white kurta and a topi. Around that time my wife woke me up and gave me the message that Hazrat Moulana Haroon Sahib رحمه الله passed away.”
Glad Tidings for Imam Muhammad Bin Ismaeel Bukhari رحمه الله
Abdul Wahid bin Adam رحمه الله says, “I saw a dream wherein I saw Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم together with a group of His Sahabah رحمهم الله waiting at a place. I made Salam to Him صلى الله عليه وسلم and He صلى الله عليه وسلم replied to the Salam. I asked, “O Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم! What is the reason for your waiting here?” Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم answered, “I am waiting for Muhammad Bin Ismaeel رحمه الله.” After a few days I received news of the demise of Imam Bukhari رحمه الله . After deliberation, I found that he passed away at the time I saw Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم in the dream. (Hadyus Sari pg.663)
One can understand the special connection that these two great luminaries of their times had with Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. The aspect of one being with the one he loves in the Hereafter is also evident from the above.
On one occasion, Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned to a Sahabi رحمه الله,
أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ
“You will be with who you love.”(Muslim #161)
Each and every one of us should take lesson from the above and introspect as to who do we love. Undoubtedly we will be with those who we love in the Hereafter.
May Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله grant us true love for Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله, His Rasul صلي الله عليه وسلم, Ambiya عليهم السلام, Sahabah رضى الله عنهم , Fuqaha, Muhaditheen, Mashaikh and Awliya رحمهم الله. Ameen
