Reciting Durood in Places Where People are Negligent

Hazrat Abu Waa’il رضى الله عنه mentions, “I have not seen Abdullah bin Mas’ood رضى الله عنه attending any gathering or invitation, except that he would praise and glorify Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله and recite Durood upon Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. If he had to go to the market place, where he found people negligent of the remembrance of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله, he would praise Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله, and recite Durood in those places.”

Durood During the Holidays

Let us look around. It is the year end. We are experiencing a very scary time of the year, the “silly season”. Many Makaatib, Madaaris, Darul Ulooms, Hifz classes and Adult classes are closed. On the other hand, sins are on an aggressive rise. People are making plans to rebel against Allah Ta’ala. Substance abuse, drinking, zina, music, parties and a host of other sins are the order of the day. The general masses are either away on holiday or at home in their comfort zones, forgetting their Islamic identity and trampling their Deeni obligations.

While a great portion of the creation want to pollute the environment with actions that earn the wrath of Allah Ta’ala, let us, as faithful followers of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم strive to purify the universe with actions that earn the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala. Of the many good deeds we can engage in, one such deed which is easy on the tongue but weighty on the scales is recitation of Durood Shareef. Its virtues and blessings are unfathomable.

When many are planning to disobey Allah Ta’ala, let us make plans to please Allah Ta’ala via the institution of Durood Shareef.

May Allah Ta’ala grant us the ability to remain in His obedience and committed to the Sunnah of our beloved Rasulullah

“O Sustainer, shower Salaat and Salaam forever and ever upon Your beloved, who is the best of all creation.”

May Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله reward our Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم on our behalf such a reward that is due to Him.
