Musa bin Talhah رحمه الله has mentioned that Hazrat ‘Ali رضي الله عنه, Hazrat Zubair رضي الله عنه, Hazrat Talhah رضي الله عنه and Hazrat Sa’d رضي الله عنه were all born in the same year.

Islam at the Hands of Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه
Ibn Ishaaq رحمه الله has mentioned Hazrat Zubair رضي الله عنه, Hazrat ‘Uthmaan رضي الله عنه, Hazrat Talhah رضي الله عنه, Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan رضي الله عنه and Hazrat Sa’d رضي الله عنه had all accepted Islam at the hands of Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه.

Participation in the Battle of Badr
Ismaa‘eel bin Abi Khaalid narrates that Bahiyy رحمه الله said, “There were only two horsemen fighting in Jihaad on the occasion of Badr with Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. One was Hazrat Zubair رضي الله عنه, who was fighting on the right flank, and the other was Hazrat Miqdaad bin Aswad رضي الله عنه, who was fighting on the left flank.
Hishaam bin ‘Urwah narrates that his father, ‘Urwah رحمه الله, said, “Hazrat Zubair رضي الله عنه was wearing a yellow turban on the Day of Badr. Hazrat Jibreel عليه السلام then descended resembling Hazrat Zubair رضي الله عنه i.e. also wearing a yellow turban) .”

REFLECTIONS
Allahu Akbar! During the battle of Badr, the angels descended to help Rasulullah صلی الله عليه وسلم and Sahaabah رضي الله عنهم.
Abu Usaid Sa’idi رضي الله عنه (who was also a Badri Sahaabi) relates: “On the day of the battle of Badr, the angels descended from the skies wearing yellow turbans. The tail ends of their turbans were suspended between their shoulders. Zubair رضي الله عنه was himself wearing a yellow turban on the day of this battle.” According to some narrations, the colour of the turbans of the angels was black and according to other narrations, they had white turbans on their heads. Rab‘i bin Anas رضي الله عنه narrates: “On the day of Badr, those slain by humans could easily be distinguished from those killed by the angels. Those slain by the angels had dark fire-scars on their necks and fingertips.”
A Muslim would run behind a scuttling disbeliever when suddenly he heard the crack of a whip accompanied by a voice: ‘Hayzum! Go on! Charge!’ The moment he located the disbeliever, he found him lying flat on the ground. His face, especially his nose, was bruised green with the lash of a whip.
