It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Moosa رضي الله عنه that Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “This Ummah of mine enjoys Allah Ta’ala’s mercy. This Ummah will not suffer (perpetual) punishment in the hereafter. However, they will receive punishment in this world in the form of trials, earthquakes and killings.”
Commentary
Hazrat Moulana Aaqil رحمه الله mentions, “This Hadith is a great means of inspiration and consolation. Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned that my Ummah is Marhooma. He صلى الله عليه وسلم then explained the details himself that in the hereafter this Ummah collectively will not suffer any fixed punishment (though they may have to undergo some light forms of punishment). They will be punished in this world through trials, earthquakes and killings.
This means that the trials, tribulations, natural disasters such as earthquakes, famine etc. resulting from sins and the hardships, mass murder, looting experienced will all eventually serve as an expiation for the sins of this Ummah. In the hereafter, Insha Allah, there will be no fixed punishment. Everything will be forgiven and compensated for.

Why must Allah Ta’ala punish you if you are grateful and you have Imaan. Allah Ta’ala is most appreciative and All Knowing. (Surah Nisaa: 147)
In this Hadith Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned, “This Ummah of mine” attributing the Ummah to himself. This contains a subtle indication that this favour which we (The Ummah Muhammadiya) enjoy is solely the result of our attachment and connection with Rasulullah This is only and solely due to his barakah and spiritual blessings.
Hazrat Moulana Aaqil Sahib’s رحمه الله Durood at the end of Kitaabul Fitan

“O Sustainer, shower Salaat and Salaam forever and ever upon Your beloved, who is the best of all creation.”
May Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله reward our Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم on our behalf such a reward that is due to Him.
