Hazrat Abu Dardaa رضي الله عنه said:
On one occasion, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم saw me walking in front of Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه. Seeing this, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said to me, “Do not walk in front of the one who is better than you.” Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم then mentioned, “Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه is the best person (of this ummah) upon whom the sun rose or upon whom the sun set.”

FOR THE LOVE OF SAYYIDUNA RASOOLULLAH صلى الله عليه وسلم
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم once fell ill and was in a deep sleep when Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه came to visit him. Seeing Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم in this condition, Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was so grieved that he also fell ill. After Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم recovered and heard that Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was ill, he went to visit Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه. Hazrat Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was overjoyed to see that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم was well and he also started to feel better. He then recited some couplets which meant:
My friend fell ill and I visited him
I then fell ill out of my grief for him
My friend got well and visited me
I then also got well just by looking at him
