If anyone thinks that success can be achieved without submitting to Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله and emulating the noble example of Sayyiduna Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم , he is in grave error. Any land that is not illuminated by the shining light of true Islamic guidance is a land deprived of goodness. Any heart devoid of Ma’rifah (recognition of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله) is a barren heart.
It is vital that we reflect on the levels of success that Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله granted Sayyiduna Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله blessed him with victory over the two major superpowers of that time; the Romans and the Persians. Let us understand that Sayyiduna Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم did not have at his disposal tanks or missiles. In fact, he did not even have a huge army as the superpowers. SubhanAllah, he had in his possession nothing more than his garments upon his arrival in Madinah Munawwarah. However, he preached to the people and led by example. This impacted upon the hearts of the Sahaba رضي الله عنه and they too were guided. Sayyiduna Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم led his companions in battle against the tyrannical rulers and after a few years, they were dethroned. We thus need to ask; what was the reason for the downfall of the superpowers? Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله gives us the simple explanation in the Holy Qur’an:
‘So the people that committed wrong were eliminated. And praise to Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله , the Lord of the worlds.’(Surah al-An’ām: 45)
‘And say; Truth has come and falsehood has departed. Indeed falsehood (by nature) is bound to depart.’(Surah al-Isra: 81)
Reflections
We need to reflect upon our choices in life; are they in conformity with the Shariah or are we rebelling against Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله?
Sayyiduna Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم was granted victory over the tyrants due to his commitment to Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله ; have we identified with that commitment? Are our actions earning the mercy or the displeasure of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله?
The tyrannical superpowers will certainly be removed by Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله but the warnings in the Kalaamullah are directed against the sinful ones; they were humiliated because of their disobedience. Have we not invited disgrace upon ourselves because of our obstinacy in sins? Most certainly any heart that refuses to see the light of the guidance of Islam is a deprived heart.
It is a humble plea to the Ummah; let us attune ourselves to the temperament of Sayyiduna Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم emulate his blessed example and attain the help of Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله. May Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله guide us and allow others to be guided by us.
